Nadine Visser has won the European gold medal in the 100-metre hurdles final in Birmingham, beating the Polish Pia Skrzyszowska after a photo finish.

Visser, 31, hadn't won a gold medal at the European Championships during her decorated career, which included two gold medals in the 60-metre hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in 2019 and 2021.

During Tuesday's final, Visser and Skrzyszowska fought neck-and-neck until the very end, with the pair pulling away from the pack in the final 30 metres. A photo finish was necessary to determine the winner, with Visser eventually clocking 12.668 seconds. Skrzyszowska finished one thousandth of a second later, clocking 12.669 seconds.

It's the second gold medal for the Netherlands at the 2026 European Championships, following Jessica Schilder's victory in Monday's women's shot putting final.
