Chippa were also among the teams in that latter season, along with Maritzburg United, now Durban City, Stellenbosch FC and AmaZulu. None of those sides were relegated at the end of the campaign, with Polokwane City going down instead.
Chippa have started this season with four draws and a defeat to Orlando Pirates, while Richards Bay have three draws and two defeats.
Siwelele and Gallants have two draws apiece, while Kruger have one, having lost the rest of their matches.

There are a further five teams, up to Durban City (W1 D3 L1) in seventh place, who have a single win this season after five games. The others are TS Galaxy (W1 D3 L1), Lamontville Golden Arrows (W1 D3 L1), Polokwane City (W1 D3 L1) and Stellenbosch (W1 D2 L2).
Seventeen of the 41 games played so far this campaign have ended in draws, a whopping 42%.
