Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez became just the third player in franchise history to hit two home runs in the same inning during Friday's matchup against the Kansas City Royals.

Alvarez, 28, became the first Astros player since Hall of Famer Jeff Bagwell accomplished the same feat 32 years ago on June 24, 1994.

Both home runs came in the first inning, with his first one being a two-run oppo-taco.

After the Astros batted around the order, Alvarez stepped up for the second time in the game to go deep once more.

This time, it was a grand slam for his 24th homer of the year.

Alvarez has been tearing it up all season. The former 2019 Rookie of the Year and three-time All-Star is now tied with 2025 National League home run leader Kyle Schwarber for the league lead this season.

His 54 RBI are just two shy of tying Andy Pajes (Los Angeles Dodgers) for the most in the league. Alvarez also leads the MLB in slugging percentage (.663) and OPS (1.097).

He's been the biggest bright spot on an Astros team that currently sits fourth in the American League West division with a 31-39 record heading into Friday.

Their three-game series against the Kansas City Royals will end on June 14th.
