The US Open second round continues today in New York as world number one Jannik Sinner and 2023 champion Coco Gauff take centre stage.

08:20 CET - Home favourite Tommy Paul has ended the second round with a dramatic five-set victory against Nuno Borges to finish the night at Flushing Meadows. 

The big-serving American edged out a classic to win 7-6 (8-6), 6-3, 5-7, 5-7, 7-5.

That brings an end to the action for tonight, but be sure to join us tomorrow as the third round gets underway.

07:20 CET - The nightmare continues for Stefanos Tsitsipas as the world number 28 lost a five-set second round thriller against Daniel Altmaier.

The German edged the fifth set to win 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.

05:25 CET - Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova finds a way through her tricky second round match, beating Maya Joint 7-6 (2), 6-2.

04:45 CET - Alex De Minaur advances to the third round after getting past Shintaro Mochizuki 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 in two hours and two minutes.

04:35 CET - Felix Auger-Aliassime took care of business in his match, beating Roman Safiulin 6-1, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5) to make the third round at the US Open.

03:40 CET - At the sixth time of asking, Alexander Zverev gets the better of Jacob Fearnley in a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 straight-set match.

02:55 CET - In what was a contrasting pair of sets, Coco Gauff progresses after beating Donna Vekic 7-6 (5), 6-2. Also moving on is Daria Kasatkina, who finds a way past Kamila Rakhimova 6-2, 4-6, 7-5.

01:25 CET - Alexander Bublik marches on in New York as he gets past Tristan Schoolkate 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.

01:10 CET - Jaqueline Cristian moves on after a three-set victory over Ashlyn Krueger 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

01:07 CET - Jaume Munar is through to the third round after he takes out Canadian Gabriel Diallo 7-5, 6-3, 7-5 in an excellent showing.

23:38 CET - 24th seed Flavio Cobolli will face fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the US Open third round after winning an absolute thriller against Jenson Brooksby, eventually triumphing 5-7, 6-3, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(3).

23:26 CET - 2023 and 2024 semi-finalist Karolina Muchova has ended the eight-match winning streak of Sorana Cirstea, coming out on top in an epic battle that lasted just under three hours, 7-6(0), 6-7(3), 6-4.

23:11 CET - There has been a big shock at the US Open and a staggering comeback, as world number 76 Kamil Majchrzak has fought from two sets down to snatch a 2-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-5, 7-6(5) win over ninth seed Karen Khachanov. The pole also saved five match points in the process.

22:20 CET - World number one and defending champion Jannik Sinner just keeps marching on. The Italian saw off Alexei Popyrin in typically efficient fashion, claiming a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 victory in two hours. His side of the draw doesn't look too tough at all.

22:13 CET - Denis Shapovalov, Magdalena Frech and Laura Siegemund have all clinched wins to seal spots in the third round at Flushing Meadows.

21:17 CET - Marta Kostyuk has survived a mighty test from Turk Zeynep Sonmez, battling to a 7-5, 6-7(5), 6-3 victory to move into the third round.

20:48 CET - Two-time champion Naomi Osaka looks in really ominous touch, and she put down a major statement performance as she crushed Hailey Baptiste 6-3, 6-1. Is the Japanese star back to her best?

20:07 CET - 15th seed Andrey Rublev has continued his recent improved form, battling past American Tristan Boyer in nearly three hours, 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(4), to seal a third-round spot in New York.

19:51 CET - Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek has avoided a shock second-round exit despite dropping the second set against Dutch player Suzan Lamens

Swiatek responded like the champion she is to take the match 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 and book her spot in the third round.

19:27 CET - Lorenzo Musetti has eased into the US Open third round, claiming a comprehensive 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 victory over David Goffin in a little over two hours.

18:52 CET - 18th seed Beatriz Haddad Maia has continued her impressive start to the US Open with a dominant 6-1, 6-4 victory against Viktorija Golubic.

18:31 CET - A number of results have just flown in, with Anna Kalinskaya, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Maria Sakkari and Linda Noskova all booking their spots in the third round.

17:05 CET - Play is just about to get started at Flushing Meadows on what is the fifth day of the 2025 US Open!

One man with a point to prove is Lorenzo Musetti, and the world number 10 faces a familiar face in David Goffin from 17:00 CET.

Also in action early on today is a revived Andrey Rublev, as the Russian faces home player Tristan Boyer on the Grandstand.

Other big names in action later in the day are world number one Jannik Sinner, Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka.
