The US Open is now in its 145th edition, and every hour of the last Grand Slam of the season brings unique stories and duels. Each day, Flashscore picks out the three most interesting matches on the schedule and where to watch them.

Emma Raducanu vs Janice Tjen

(17:00 CET - Louis Armstrong Stadium / HBO Max)

Has another prodigy appeared on the big stage? Janice Tjen made it to the second round of the US Open via qualifying and a win over the seeded Veronika Kudermetova. Now she's targeting Emma Raducanu, who is her inspiration.

It was the Brit who won the 2021 US Open from qualifying. Tjen is competing in her first career major, but this is her first year on the pro circuit. However, she's also already won six tournaments and accumulated 59 victories in total.

How is that possible? Janice studied sociology at Pepperdine University in California, so she's only competed in the American Student Series so far. But she has already shown that even this path can have success.

The Indonesian certainly has nothing to lose, while Raducanu is aware that she has won only one match at this tournament since her surprise triumph in New York four years ago.

Elena Rybakina vs Tereza Valentova

(20:30 CET - Staduim 17 / HBO Max)

Elena Rybakina boasts a Wimbledon title from 2022, but has never made it past the second week at the US Open. And yet, her tennis is made for hard courts.

Perhaps that's why she has put in the hard work to prepare, having attended tournaments in Washington, Montreal and Cincinnati, accumulating 13 matches at those events before the New York Grand Slam with a 10-3 record.

At only 18 years old, Tereza Valentova will face one of the toughest opponents in her career to date. However, this Czech starlet is enjoying herself these days. She has already won four tournaments this year (three on hard court) and holds a record of 30 wins to five losses on the surface.

Rybakina is definitely the favourite and has shown no mercy in Grand Slams this year in her matches against teenagers. In her four matches against them (twice against Jovic, once against Jones and Pareja), she lost a total of 14 games combined.

Valentova has to trust that the Kazakh tennis star will give her some space to hit her shots, then maybe this match could turn into a compelling contest.

Frances Tiafoe vs Martin Damm Jr.

(21:00 CET - Grandstand / HBO Max)

Frances Tiafoe has twice reached the semi-finals at his home Grand Slam, so he must have the highest ambitions this year as well. However, he faces a somewhat tricky opponent in the second round.

Martin Damm Jr. has made it into the main event from the qualifying rounds, despite being ranked outside the top 400 in the world rankings. However, he should not be underestimated.

Perhaps no one else in the world can boast of having won both of their matches against Carlos Alcaraz. Of course, it was on the junior circuit, once at Wimbledon and the second time in Porto Alegre on clay, but still, it shows his ability.

Moreover, Damm certainly gets good advice from his father (Martin Damm), who triumphed at the US Open in 2006 alongside doubles partner Leander Paes.

Tiafoe is the clear favourite, of course, but he will have to deal with the exceptional serve of the 203-centimetre-tall Damm, who hit 24 aces in the first round, the second-highest number in the tournament. Damm also notched the fastest server of all at 246 km/h. Keep an eye on this one!
