All eyes shift to the Australian Open as the first Grand Slam of 2025 gets underway, with Melbourne playing host to the world's best players. A jam-packed Sunday of action is on the cards, and the Tennis Tracker will be here to keep you up to date with all the results and news.

14:43 CET - And that will be that from the Tennis Tracker as the first day of the Australian Open comes to an end. Make sure you come back later tonight with Novak Djokovic (37), Jannik Sinner (23) and Carlos Alcaraz (21) all set to take to the court on day two!

14:31 CET - In the final two matches of the opening day at the Australian Open, Quentin Halys (28) won a thriller from two sets down against Aussie Adam Walton (25), 4-6, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4), 7-5, while Anna Blinkova (26) overcame another Australian player, Daria Saville (30), 1-6, 6-4, 7-5.

 13:53 CET - Reilly Opelka (27) has continued his bright start to the season with a hard-fought 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-3, 6-2 win over Belgium's Gauthier Onclin (23).

13:24 CET - Alexander Zverev (27) made light work of his first-round clash against Lucas Pouille (30), with the German coasting to a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 triumph. Could this finally be the tournament where he breaks his Grand Slam duck?

12:58 CET - Staying on the men's side of the draw, 14th seed Ugo Humbert (26) has seen off the challenge of Matteo Gigante (23), coming through in three competitive sets, 7-6(5), 7-5, 6-4.

11:54 CET - Tomas Machac (24) has moved through at the Australian Open with a 6-3, 6-1, 7-5 victory over Sumit Nagal (27). Fellow Czech Jiri Lehecka (23) also progressed, battling past Li Tu (28) 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(1)

10:59 CET - Leylah Fernandez (22) and Clara Tauson (22) are through to the second round after impressive wins over Yuliia Starodubtseva (24) and Linda Noskova (20) respectively.

10:28 CET - Top seed and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka (26) was in typically ruthless form this morning, dispatching Sloane Stephens (31) 6-3, 6-2 in just 72 minutes.

09:45 CET - Spain's Paula Badosa (27) is safely through after a routine 6-3, 7-6(5) win over Xinyu Wang (23), while Tatjana Maria (37) and Suzan Lamens (25) have also progressed.

Check out the full women's draw here.

08:05 CET - Kei Nishikori (35) has continued his impressive start to 2025, coming from two sets down to outlast Thiago Monteiro (30) 4-6, 6-7(4), 7-5, 6-2, 6-3 in a four-hour epic.

07:54 CET - As rain continues to disrupt the opening day of action in Melbourne, men's sixth seed Casper Ruud (26) has survived a huge scare on Rod Laver Arena, battling past Jaume Munar (27) 6-3, 1-6, 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 in a topsy-turvy five-set affair.

Meanwhile, on the women's side of the draw, Donna Vekic (28) has eased through after a relatively routine 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Diane Parry (22).

04:30 CET - Arthur Fils (30) has overcome Otto Virtanen (23) 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the second round.

The Frenchman, seeded 20th, served up 15 aces, and despite having more unforced errors than winners, he is the one going through.

03:55 CET - After a very close first set, Qinwen Zheng (22) got the better of qualifier Anca Alexia Todoni (22) 7-6(3), 6-1 to move on.

Last year's runner-up won 83% of her first serve points, which went a long way in her ability to get the better of Todoni, who was making just her second Grand Slam appearance.

02:50 CET - Mirra Andreeva (17) has battled past Marie Bouzkova (26) in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, to progress to the second round in Melbourne.

The 15th seed did not have her best match, hitting as many winners as unforced errors, but that seldom mattered in the end. Breaking the Bouzkova serve six times throughout the course of the match was enough for her to move on.
