It's another star-studded day of action at tournaments in Beijing and Tokyo, with Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff and Alexander Zverev among those taking to the court.

17:38 CET - It's nearing Monday in Beijing, and third seed Amanda Anisimova has been burning the midnight oil, beating China's Shuai Zhang in straight sets 7-6, 6-0 to advance into the last 16. We will be back bright and early tomorrow with the semi-finals in Tokyo as well as all the action from the Chinese capital.

16:04 CET - Second seed Alexander Zverev is the final man through to the quarter-finals in Beijing after a hard-fought 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 triumph over Corentin Moutet.

13:32 CET - Belinda Bencic has progressed in China after the Swiss star recovered from a set down to outlast Priscilla Hon 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

12:01 CET - A quick end to Karolina Muchova's match with Paula Badosa - just six games, in fact - as the Spanish player has been forced to retire from their last 32 clash through injury after 35 minutes.

11:50 CET - It's certainly been a test for Carlos Alcaraz in Tokyo, but he has come through it, beating a valiant Brandon Nakashima 6-2, 6-4 to make the final four.

11:27 CET - All over in the match between Jasmine Paolini and Sofia Kenin, with the contest going the way of the Italian, as the sixth seed was imperious, winning 6-3, 6-0.

10:53 CET - A big win for Marie Bouzkova, who has taken down 24th seed Veronika Kudermetova, winning their encounter 6-3, 7-5.

Elsewhere in Beijing, Daniil Medvedev continues to show flickers of form, progressing into the last 16 with a comprehensive 6-3, 6-3 win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

10:17 CET - It's been a successful afternoon for Norway's Casper Ruud, needing just 59 minutes to see off Aleksandar Vukic in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

09:55 CET - What a ding-dong battle between Coco Gauff and Leylah Fernandez! The pair have put on a show in Beijing, playing for two hours and 55 minutes, where the second seed Gauff has come out on top. The American prevailed 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 to progress into the last 16.

09:13 CET - Beijing fourth seed Lorenzo Musetti has progressed into the last eight with a comfortable 6-3, 6-3 victory over Frenchman Adrian Mannarino.

08:20 CET - Holger Rune has been dumped out in Tokyo in the quarter-finals, with Jenson Brooksby stunning the Dane in a 6-3, 6-3 win.

08:14 CET - McCartney Kessler is through to the last 16 in Beijing after Barbora Krejcikova retired from their match, with the American leading the contest 1-6, 7-5, 3-0.

07:31 CET - What a result for Eva Lys! The German star has ousted world number 10 Elena Rybakina in Beijing, winning the encounter 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.

There have already been a couple of notable results overnight in Asia, as Tokyo second seed Taylor Fritz saw off fellow American Sebastian Korda in the opening game of the day, but needed three sets to do it.

Fritz won the encounter 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-3 to move on to the semi-finals.

It's also been a good start to the American charge in Beijing, with Learner Tien making it into the last eight with an impressive 6-3, 6-2 victory over Flavio Cobolli of Italy.

Looking ahead to the rest of today's play, second seed Coco Gauff takes on Leylah Fernandez in Beijing shortly, while Jasmine Paolini, Amanda Anisimova and Karolina Muchova also continue their campaigns in the capital.

On the men's side of the tournament, Alexander Zverev faces mercurial Frenchman Corentin Moutet later this morning, while Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud are both in quarter-final action in Tokyo.
