It's a star-studded Friday at the Italian Open, with Aryna Sabalenka, Carlos Alcaraz and Coco Gauff all getting their campaigns underway.

22:26 CET - Alex Zverev has lived up to his favourite billing to round off the day's play in Rome with a resounding 6-2, 6-1 victory over Argentina's Camilo Ugo Carabelli

21:27 CET - Bianca Andreescu is through to the next round after a topsy-turvy 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 victory against Donna Vekic.

20:59 CET - Another player who has been through a battle this evening is Coco Gauff. The American fourth seed needed three sets to beat Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko, with Gauff eventually seeing her off 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.

20:45 CET - 11th seed Elena Rybakina has been tested by Eva Lys, but the Kazakh star is through to the next round, thanks to a 7-6(3), 6-2 victory.

Meanwhile, it's also been a tough day at the office for the recent Madrid champion, Holger Rune, but he, too, has prevailed, beating Argentina's Francisco Comesana 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

20:04 CET - Jack Draper has been one of the players of the year so far, and the fifth seed continues to soar with a comprehensive 6-1, 6-4 win over Luciano Darderi.

19:09 CET - Leylah Fernandez is through in Rome, with the Canadian battling through a competitive opening set to defeat Antonia Ruzic 6-4, 6-0.

Elsewhere, Vit Kopriva and Vilius Gaubas have progressed on the men's side of the tournament.

18:35 CET - Emma Navarro and Marta Kostyuk have sailed through in the Italian capital after impressive straight-set victories over Kamilla Rakhimova and Daria Kasatkina, respectively.

17:43 CET - Emma Raducanu showed glimpses of her best form in Rome today, with the Brit coasting past lucky loser Jil Teichmann 6-2, 6-2.

Veronika Kudermetova is also through after a hard-fought 7-6(5), 7-5 win against 15th seed Amanda Anisimova.

16:48 CET - Teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva has sealed her spot in the third round after a relatively routine 6-2, 6-4 victory over Colombia's Emiliana Arango.

Meanwhile, on the men's side of the tournament, Daniil Medvedev is through, with the 10th seed sweeping aside Brit Cameron Norrie in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

16:30 CET - Lorenzo Musetti has eased through on home soil, with the Italian eighth seed defeating Otto Virtanen in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

Laslo Djere is also through to the third round after an emphatic 6-0, 6-3 triumph over Alex Michelsen.

15:44 CET - Greek 18th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas is the next player to triumph today, battling through a tricky second set to eventually seal a 6-2, 7-6(3) victory over Alexandre Muller.

15:25 CET - Linda Noskova has defeated Sonay Kartal, 6-4, 6-2, in a little under an hour and a half to swiftly move into the third round in the Italian capital.

14:52 CET - Qinwen Zheng will be looking to recapture her best form after a tough 2025 so far, and in Rome today, she made light work of Olga Danilovic, easing to a 6-1, 6-4 win.

Magdalena Frech and Clara Tauson also both progressed to the third round.

14:32 CET - Men's third seed Carlos Alcaraz is safely through to the third round in the Italian capital after a convincing 6-3, 6-3 triumph over experienced Serb Dusan Lajovic.

Meanwhile, Karen Khachanov and Magda Linette have also progressed after victories over Roman Andres Burruchaga and Maria Sakkari respectively.

13:12 CET - Some breaking news as Ekaterina Alexandrova has pulled out of the tournament, meaning her scheduled opponent Emma Raducanu will face lucky loser Jill Teichmann instead.

13:06 CET - Grigor Dimitrov has been dumped out in Rome, with the Bulgarian 14th seed losing in straight sets 7-5, 6-3 to home favourite Francesco Passaro.

12:20 CET - Our first two results are in from Rome, where world number one Aryna Sabalenka has made light work of Anastasia Potapova, winning their encounter 6-2, 6-2 in just 64 minutes.

Meanwhile, it's been nearly as breezy for Sofia Kenin with the American seeing off Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-3, 6-0 in 67 minutes.

And, on the men's side of the draw, Arthur Fils progresses into the weekend with a 6-2, 6-2 win over the Netherlands' Tallon Griekspoor.

09:34 CET - We're just under 90 minutes away from play getting underway in Rome, as women's top seed Aryna Sabalenka takes on Anastasia Potapova at 11:00 CET, while Grigor Dimitrov, Arthur Fils and Stefanos Tsitsipas are also in early action.

Later on, a blockbuster day sees Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper and Elena Rybakina all take to the court.
