But the seeded duo found a way through again in the next game, forcing a loss of serve with their second break point of the game, before winning a fourth service game of the set without losing a point, as Goransson's serve and Bhambri's work at the net worked in perfect tandem.
The pair secured match point in their next service game to win it 6-3, 6-4 and move into the Second Round, where they will face either the Brazilian pair of Marcelo Melo & Fernando Romboli, or Mexico's Santiago Gonzalez & Dutchman David Pel, who meet tomorrow.
