The weekend just gone was one full of goals in football's top leagues, and that led to some high ratings in Flashscore's internal system.

Here is our latest Team of the Week:

Goalkeeper

Giorgi Mamardashvili (Valencia) - 8.5

One of the biggest results of the weekend came in the Spanish capital, where Valencia beat Real Madrid in their own backyard to extend their excellent run of form.

Hugo Duro may have been their hero with his last-gasp winner but goalkeeper Mamardashvili was just as important, saving eight efforts including a penalty from Vinicius Junior.

Defence

Jubal (Auxerre) - 8.7

Brazilian defender Jubal scored yet again for Auxerre on Sunday, heading in a corner in the 89th minute to give his side a 1-0 win away to Rennes.

Remarkably, the 31-year-old now has five goals in his last nine games. Not too shabby for a centre-back.

Nicolas Otamendi (Benfica) - 8.3

Benfica took a big step towards the title at the weekend, beating rivals Porto 4-1 away from home to go two points clear at the top of the league with Sporting being held by Braga.

Veteran defender Otamendi rose to the occasion, being rock-solid at the back all game before heading in a free-kick to get his side's fourth in the 94th minute.

Mike Eerdhuijzen (Sparta Rotterdam) - 8.5

Sparta Rotterdam put some breathing room between themselves and the Eredivisie relegation zone with a 2-0 win against NEC Nijmegen, and their star man was centre-back Eerdhuijzen.

As well as completing 60 of his 66 passes and creating chances with two of them, he also made eight clearances and won all four of his aerial duels.

Midfield

Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) - 8.7

While Inter Miami were held to a 1-1 draw on home turf, Lionel Messi continued his excellent start to the season against Toronto.

The Argentine equalised for his side by firing a half-volley into the bottom corner from the edge of the box and made five key passes over the course of the 90 minutes, as well as five successful dribbles.

Carney Chukwuemeka (Borussia Dortmund) - 8.3

English midfielder Chukwuemeka, on loan to Borussia Dortmund from Chelsea, scored his first goal for the German club at the weekend against Freiburg.

In his first start, he made it 2-0 with an effort from the edge of the box and was important at both ends of the pitch in an all-action display.

Uche Christantus (Getafe) - 8.5

Young Nigerian Uche Christantus is enjoying a strong season at Getafe, and produced one of his best performances yet in their 4-0 win away to Real Valladolid.

He set up both of his side's first two goals, the first with a flick-on from a corner and the second with a lovely through ball.

Tete Morente (Lecce) - 9.0

Tete Morente was a creative force to be reckoned with for Lecce in their 1-1 draw with fellow relegation battlers Venezia.

The Spanish left-winger made four key passes and completed six of the seven dribbles that he attempted, while also winning 15 of the 17 duels that he contested.

Attack

Anderson Talisca (Fenerbahce) - 9.8

We usually don't include players that only played 45 minutes, but we had to make an exception for Talisca given the impact he made in the time he spent on the pitch in Fenerbahce's 4-1 win over Trabzonspor.

The Brazilian came off the bench with his side 1-0 down and made an instant impact, levelling things up from the spot after five minutes. He then went on to get two more goals in the 30 minutes that followed, and the one that completed his hat-trick was a screamer.

Andre Lacximicant (Estoril) - 9.5

Lacximicant headed into Estoril's match against AFS with just one goal to his name this season, and then went and quadrupled his tally in the space of an hour.

The 23-year-old Portuguese striker scored all of his side's goals in their 3-0 win with three clinical left-footed finishes.

Vangelis Pavlidis (Benfica) - 9.3

There was another hat-trick hero in Portugal at the weekend too, with Greek striker Pavlidis getting his second of the season for Benfica.

His tally for the current campaign is now 24 goals and nine assists, and at this rate, it won't be long before Europe's biggest clubs begin to take an interest in him.
