Ghana are unlikely to play a second pre-World Cup friendly before their opening Group L match against Panama, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has confirmed.
Speaking to 3Sports, Twum revealed that despite earlier reports suggesting Ghana could face either Jamaica or Honduras as part of their final preparations on American soil, no such fixture has materialised.
The Black Stars drew 1-1 with Wales in Cardiff last Tuesday in what was the first ever meeting between the two nations and Carlos Queiroz's first match in charge.
Following that fixture, the squad flew to Virginia in the United States where they have been training in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Reports had circulated that a second friendly was being explored to give the squad one more competitive run-out before the real business begins in Toronto on June 17. Those reports have now been put to bed.
"At this point is a big no," he told 3Sports. "We don't have any game on paper at this point. It doesn't look likely but I am not in the position to rule out anything yet."
The GFA spokesperson left a small window open should Queiroz change his mind, but suggested that even in the unlikely event of a fixture being added, it would be tightly controlled and minimal in intensity.
"If it is that we wake up tomorrow and he wants to play maybe a mid to low intensity game, I don't think he will accept a higher intensity game at this point. But if it is that we wake up tomorrow and he wants to play a mid to low intensity game, we will make it public. At this point, there is nothing of a sort on paper."
Twum was also keen to underline the collaborative nature of the decision-making process between the coaching staff and the federation.
"If the coach wants a game, we arrange. If he doesn't need a game, we move. We told him about a second game before we played against Wales. We were all looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it didn't happen and collectively we have decided to move on. So it's not about only the coach or the FA. We work hand in hand to ensure that the best possible arrangements are made for the team."
From Toronto to Philadelphia: Ghana's full 2026 FIFA World Cup schedule
With no further friendlies on the horizon, Ghana's focus now shifts entirely to the World Cup itself. The Black Stars will continue their training camp in Virginia before flying out to their official base camp at Bryant University in Rhode Island on June 11.
From there, they will make the move to Toronto on June 15, just two days before the World Cup opener against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field.
England will follow on June 23 in Boston, with the group stage concluding against Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
