Head coach Jacob Friis has named his Finland squad for their two fixtures in September, with the emphasis very much on youth for the Eagle Owls' friendly with Norway and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier with Poland, as they have included seven of the players involved in June's 2025 U21 European Championship.

Two of those players - Adam Marhiev and Oiva Jukkola - have been called up to the senior side for the first time. In addition, Matti Peltola, Lucas Bergstrom, Ville Koski, Santeri Vaananen and Topi Keskinen join up after their exploits in Slovakia, having all received senior call-ups previously.

Having missed out on selection for the World Cup qualifying loss to the Netherlands and victory at home to Poland, also in June, Adam Stahl and Rasmus Schuller have also regained their places in Friis' squad.

Despite the youthful element, Finland still have plenty of experience to call upon from the likes of Lukas Hradecky, Teemu Pukki and Joel Pohjanpalo.

Norway will host Finland in a friendly at Ullevaal Stadion on Thursday 4th September, then on Sunday 7th September, the Eagle Owls turn their attentions to their World Cup qualifier away in Poland at Stadion Śląski in Chorzow.

Finland currently lead Group G with seven points from four matches played, a point ahead of both the Netherlands and Poland, though they have two and one games in hand over the Finns, respectively.
