Arsenal have made history this week as 13-year-old Luis Munoz featured against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Youth League.

Arsenal’s Under-19s beat Bayern 4-2 at Mangata Developments Stadium in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday afternoon in what was an intense game between the two sides.

The Gunners won thanks to goals from Kyran Thompson and Ceadach O'Neill before first-team star Max Dowman finished the game off in the second half, which will please manager Mikel Arteta.

However, the result has been overshadowed by a piece of history as Munoz, who is 13, came off the bench and became the youngest player to play in the UEFA Youth League.

As reported by The Standard, Payas was 14 years and 93 days old when he played for Lincoln Red Imps in September of last year. Munoz beats that record by a month as he waits to turn 14 in December.

Munoz had yet to feature for the Under-18s but has played above his age range as he starred for the Under-16’s side, who were crowned Premier League National Champions this month.

The 13-year-old may have only played for five minutes at the end of the game, but he has made history this week in a record that is unlikely to be broken anytime soon.
