There is more than a place in the Nations League semifinals at stake when Denmark and Portugal meet each other twice in the space of three days.

In addition to the prize money within Nations League the results against Portugal will also influence Denmark's qualification campaign for the World Cup.

Should Denmark win again Portugal they will be placed in Group F, where opponents will be Hungary, Ireland and Armenia

If Denmark lose and Portugal proceed to the semifinals, the opponents for Denmark in the World Cup qualification campaign will be Greece, Scotland and Belarus.

The winner of the 12 World Cup qualifying groups will of course go through to the World Cup, while those who finish second in the groups will go into playoffs where Europe's last four places at the tournament will be divided

Here they will be joined by the top four Nations League group winners who have not already qualified for the World Cup.

The Danish FA have already earned just under 17 million Danish kroner (2,2 million EUROs) from finishing second in their Nations League group.

If Denmark finishes fourth in the Nations League, they will earn an extra 18.5 million Danish kroner (2,5 million EUROs). A third place will pay out 26 million Danish kroner (3,5 million EUROs) . Second place 33.5 million Danish kroner (4,5 million EUROs), while the Danish FA will earn 45 million Danish kroner (6 million EUROs) if Brian Riemer's men proceed to win the tournament.
