AGF preserved their lead at the top of the Danish Superliga before the international break when they made club history by recording their eighth successive win with a 3-1 home win against Silkeborg. AGF's closest rivals, FC Midtjylland and FC Copenhagen, shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the Parken Stadium. Brondby claimed a hard-fought 2-0 win away against Fredericia, while the situation at the bottom of the league became even more desperate for Vejle with a 0-3 home defeat against FC Nordsjaelland. Finally, Randers won 2-1 against Viborg.

AGF - Silkeborg IF

AGF on Sunday recorded their eighth successive win in the Danish Superliga to set a new club record when they cruised past Silkeborg IF to record a 3-1 win at home in front of a delirious crowd.

The home side also began the match playing with the confidence of an outfit that had won seven matches on the trot, and after just ten minutes, the Silkeborg rearguard caved in when Norwegian playmaker, Kristian Arnstad, gave AGF a deserved lead with a superb long-range drive.

Kevin Yakob has returned to action this season for AGF following a dreadful knee injury that kept him out for nearly two years, and the Iraq international scored his first goal since his lengthy layoff when he doubled the lead after 27 minutes, after having been denied by the woodwork seven minutes earlier.

Against the run of play, the visitors then got a lifeline after 34 minutes when New Zealand midfielder Callum McCowatt reduced the deficit to 2-1 after playing a quick one-two with Tonni Admasen.

In the second half, the home side, however, left no doubt of the outcome as they completely controlled proceedings and put the final nail in the Silkeborg coffin after 65 minutes when Tobias Bech pounced on the rebound after Patrick Mortensen had hit the woodwork from close range.

FC Copenhagen - Midtjylland

FC Copenhagen suffered one of their rare defeats when they were dealt a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Azerbaijan outfit Qarabag on Wednesday in the Champions League. And there was more misery for the home side from the start of Sunday's match when captain Thomas Delaney suffered what looked to be a serious knee injury after ten minutes.

The visitors then took the lead after 18 minutes when Phillip Billing produced a perfect delivery across goal for the onrushing Franculino, who opened the account for FC Midtjylland from a tight angle.

The home side then came close to restoring parity seven minutes later when the ball ended at the feet of Jordan Larsson after Mohamed Elyounoussi burst through the Jutland defense, but Jonas Lossl dived well to save the attempt from the Swedish international.

The two sides continued to trade blows after the interval in a high-intensity drama, and FC Midtjylland really should have doubled the lead after an hour's play when Victor Bak put Junior Brumado clean through, but Dominik Kotarski kept the home side in the game with a fine save.

FC Copenhagen did, however, manage to get a share of the spoils, ten minutes from the end, when Munashe Garananga steered a header into the net after a cross from Jordan Larsson. Garananga was later sent off in injury time for a nasty challenge on Junior Brumado.

Fredericia had plenty of chances to secure what would have been an unexpected win against Brondby on Sunday night when the two sides squared off at a windy Monjasa Park. The Copenhagen visitors, however, had the last laugh as they secured a much-needed win thanks to two late goals from Noah Nartey and Michael Gregoritsch, which secured a 2-0 win for Steve Cooper's side.

AGF lead the Danish Superliga with 26 points after 11 matches, while FC Midtjylland are four points behind in second place. FC Copenhagen and Brondby are tied in third place with 21 points each.
