Fulham winger Harry Wilson has admitted he was a 'little bit surprised' no Tottenham defenders went to cover Guglielmo Vicario for the second goal.

Marco Silva’s side earned a much-needed 2-1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but it wouldn’t have been possible without Vicario’s howler.

The Italian goalkeeper rushed off his line to intercept a Fulham pass, only for his botched clearance to wind up at Wilson.

Wilson expertly curled the ball into an open net from a tight angle, but after the game, he admitted to being ‘surprised’ by how easy it was.

"I was a little bit surprised. I felt like the goalkeeper was out of the box for ages. I was surprised none of the back four went back to the line. When none of them defended the goal, my eyes lit up a bit," he said.

"(Destiny) Udogie slipped too, which gave me a bit of extra time. Then it was all about trying to make the right contact and get it on target.

"I had a good feeling, as soon as it left my feet, that it was on the right line."
