Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has spoken to the media ahead of this weekend's clash with Newcastle United.

Both teams are level on points as they meet at the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Seagulls have only lost one of their last 11 Premier League home matches and will hope to snatch three points and push themselves into a European spot.

Injury updates

Hurzeler first gave some injury news and revealed who will miss Saturday’s clash.

"Brajan Gruda can't play tomorrow, he won't be available.

"Karou Mitoma and Joel Veltman are training, but we will have to assess them as well. There is still a question mark over both so we will have to wait."

He also provided some information on Diego Gomez after he suffered an injury while on international duty with Paraguay:

"Unfortunately, players don't come back like how we left them, they come back with small issues. We have tried to manage it across the last couple of days.

"The other players, including Diego Gomez, we will assess, but there is a high chance that they are an option and can start the game"

Hurzeler worried about Woltemade

The Brighton boss also spoke on Nick Woltemade and wished him all the best as he continues to impress with the Magpies

"He is special for how he plays with his height.

"Tomorrow he can stop scoring, then I wish him all the best.

"We have to double him."

Baleba to Man Utd?

Finally, he was asked about Carlos Baleba, who is linked with Manchester United, who see the 21-year-old as a top target. Brighton are said to value the midfielder at around £100m and Hurzeler revealed what he demands of him.

"I think it is getting to the time now where it is up to him. He has to take responsibility as well.

"He is a Brighton player and will be until the end of the season.

"It's up to the player that he steps up, that he takes ownership.

"That is what I demand of him."
