FC Midtjylland have apologized after making an embarrassing mistake on social media in relation to "Football Shirt Friday" arranged to support the Children's Cancer Foundation.

FC Midtjylland acknowledges that it was a mistake to obscure an AGF shirt in connection with Football Shirt Friday, says the club on X.

The mistake happened on Friday, when the club first put up a large joint picture, where men, women, and children were wearing different football shirts to support the good cause.

The post was then replaced with a new picture, where an AGF shirt was suddenly blurred. This was a mistake, says the now.

"A shirt in the picture was subsequently blurred. It was an unfortunate human error and not who we are as a club. We regret that.

"Football shirt Friday is about something far more important than rivalries. It is about us as a society standing together for children with cancer and their families. This is the case that deserves attention", writes FC Midtjylland on Saturday.

FC Midtjylland and AGF will clash in the return leg of their clash in the Danish Cup on Sunday evening. FC Midtjylland won the first match 1-0.
