After a lengthy layoff Andreas Christensen is back in the squad for FC Barcelona when they face Real Betis in the Spanish La Liga tonight.

Coach Hansi Flick has named a 22 man squad for the visit of Manuel Pellegrini's side with Andreas Christensen included after the Danish defender's recovery from a calf injury. In contrast, Iñigo Martinez is ruled out with a minor gluteal injury in his left leg.

The Danish international central defender suffered an injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg at the beginning of the month and was expected to be out for four weeks.

Christensen has had a season to forget with injuries constantly hampering his progress and the Danish profile has only played 27 minutes in the opening match against Valencia at Mestalla.

Hansi Flick will hope to have Andreas Christensen at his disposal for the final stretch of the season where he is most likely to star in central defense but could also be pushed into a position in midfield, since Marc Casadó will be out at least until mid-May while only Frenkie de Jong and Eric García are reliable options to cover the position.

Christensen has little more than a year left of his contract but speculation is ripe that he could be replaced by Jonathan Tah in the summer transfer window given the Danes' frequent history of injuries.

Barcelona will face Real Betis at home in the olympic stadium at 21.00 CET.
