The Rotterdam side came fresh off a 4-1 cup win against amateur team Rijnsburgse Boys and were looking to build momentum off this victory after losing their previous two Eredivisie fixtures against FC Utrecht (1-2) and PSV (3-0).
A rough first half for Feyenoord was characterised by Calvin Stengs after his opening goal got cancelled after an offside was spotted by the officials.
However, their frustration came to a quick end when Brazilian winger Igor Paixao opened the scoring right on the cusp of half-time with a thunderous strike.
Only a few minutes after the break, Paixao got a chance to double Feyenoord's lead but the Brazilian could not beat Willem II's excellent French goalkeeper Thomas Didillon-Hodl.
Neither side managed to create big scoring opportunities, making Willem II eagerly look for openings and a surprise result against the Champions League outfit.
The promoted team from Tilburg got what they were looking for 15 minutes prior to full-time when Jesse Bosch fired a rocket at Justin Bijlow's goal and left the Dutch international hopeless in his efforts.
Unable to clear Willem II's defence any more, Feyenoord conceded yet another disappointing result with a draw at the Koning Willem II Stadion and will have to improve on short notice before their Champions League home game against Bayern Munich.
