Plea, who joined PSV from Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this summer, went down injured following a duel with FC Twente defender Robin Propper and immediately grabbed his knee, which awkwardly twisted as Propper tackled the Frenchman.
The injury immediately worried Bosz, who grimaced at the footage. "I saw his right knee buckle very scarily. That's obviously not good. Let's hope it's not too serious," he told ESPN after his team's 2-0 win.
PSV have been struggling in the striker position with Ricardo Pepi still recovering from a significant knee injury sustained in January. Luuk de Jong left the club on a free transfer this summer, prompting the Eindhoven club to reel in Plea.
With Plea now injured, PSV might have to enter the transfer market again in search of a new striker. Bosz hopes the club can avoid this situation.
"Please, let's hope not and let's hope he (Plea) can play really soon again. Pepi will be back soon, and with him and Plea, we have two good strikers."
Propper guilty after injury
FC Twente captain Robin Propper, who committed to the fateful tackle, felt guilty after Plea's injury, but emphasised he went for the ball.
"It's terrible. I went full throttle for the ball. He's lying somewhere between my legs. I hope he's okay. I'm going to check on him in a moment. He grabbed his knee, but unfortunately, it didn't look good," said Propper.
