Utrecht coach Ron Jans fears that Danish midfielder Victor Jensen, who was just selected for the first time for Brian Riemers' national team squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying fixtures, will be sidelined for at least six weeks after he was stretchered off in Utrecht's Conference League clash against Zrinjski Mostar.

After scoring eight goals in the first eight matches of the season, Victor Jensen was surprisingly called up for Denmark's World Cup qualifying matches against Scotland and Greece.

But after an unfortunate incident in yesterday's game against Zrinjski Mostar, where he pulled a hamstring the back of his thigh it looks like the Danish midfielder won't be fit to take part after all.

Utrecht coach Ron Jans was certainly not positive on Jensen's behalf after Thursday's match.

"It doesn't look good. He has a hamstring injury. Right now we are waiting, but normally this kind of thing takes six weeks, if we are to believe our doctor assessment", says Ron Jans, according to Voetbal International.

Victor Jensen previously played youth football in FC Copenhagen and was sold to Ajax in 2017, who at the time paid around €4 million for the goal-scoring midfielder.

However, his big breakthrough came in Utrecht, where he has performed consistently for the past two seasons.
