Wednesday night, Prague, Eden Stadium packed to the rafters, the Champions League anthem playing... thousands of dreams coming true in the stands and determined faces on the pitch. However, the match between Slavia Prague and Barcelona is about much more than just football.

Both clubs are using this high-profile clash to give courage and hope to those fighting the toughest battle off the field: the fight against cancer. Two nine-year-old boys will be the faces of this joint initiative. Two young cancer patients. Adam and Dominik.

The partnership between Slavia and Barcelona has a simple purpose. The Prague club is aware of its social responsibility, and that’s why this special Champions League night will serve as a platform for a powerful message: supporting children with cancer and their families.

The symbol of this message is two nine-year-old boys. Two young cancer patients. Two brave fighters.

Dominik, who is also a volunteer firefighter and a huge sports fan, supports Barcelona. He wrote a letter to his beloved club asking if he could meet representatives of the great Catalan team during the match at Eden. His dream has come true, as he received a positive response.

Adam, the same age, who dreams of becoming a pilot one day, is a devoted Slavia fan and didn’t hesitate to write a motivational letter to other children still facing cancer treatment. In it, he spoke about courage and hope. And also about how fear is not a weakness.

Both young fighters will be together on Wednesday in the heart of Slavia’s stadium. They will meet players and representatives from both clubs. And they will remind everyone that courage, unity, and humanity are values that transcend colours, countries, and rivalries.

Because cancer does not discriminate. The Slavia - Barcelona match will not just be about the result on the pitch. It will be a message of hope, solidarity, and the power of a shared cause. It will show that football can stand with the most vulnerable.

And that it’s worth fighting cancer together.

"When I look at Adam and Dominik, I don’t see sick children. I see incredible courage, immense strength, and a huge desire to live life to the fullest. As a cancer patient myself, I know how tough some days can be. And how valuable it is to fulfill a dream, to have a powerful experience that gives you the energy to keep going," says Jaroslav Tvrdik.

"Football has a unique ability to bring people together and bring hope where it’s needed most. That’s why I’m even happier that Barcelona is joining this cause. Together, we can show that football is not just a sport, but also about humanity, solidarity, and believing that even in the hardest times, it’s worth having faith and fighting."
