After a dramatic final night, the inaugural league phase of the new Champions League has concluded and our attention turns to the playoffs. By the end of next Wednesday, we will know the full Round of 16 lineup. Follow the playoff first legs with us below.

February 12th

23:30 CET - That is it from the first legs of the play-offs but there is still so much to play for across most matches so be sure to join us again next week for the second and deciding leg!

23:02 CET - Elsewhere, Feyenoord held on to a vital 1-0 win against AC Milan ahead of the second leg at the San Siro and Benfica secured a first-leg away win

22:55 CET - There would be no late drama at Celtic Park! Despite a strong response late on, the damage was already done and it is a tough ask now to expect Celtic to get anything from Munich. Bayern Munich 2-1 Celtic.

22:45 CET - The wind is in Celtic's sail now as they push for an incredible equaliser. It is loud inside Celtic Park. But time is running out, just two minutes plus stoppage time for the hosts to give them some hope when they visit Munich.

22:38 CET - Hope for Celtic! They have pulled one back against Bayern and it is game on at Celtic Park.

It isn't a pretty goal but Daizen Maeda found a yard of space inside the box and made no mistake to bring Celtic back within one.

22:21 CET - Meanwhile, Celtic wanted a penalty and thought they had one until VAR ruled them to be offside in the build-up to the foul. This is a huge 30 minutes or so now for the Scottish giants.

22:17 CET - We finally have a goal in Monaco and it is the visitors Benfica who have taken the lead! It has arrived from the on-fire Vangelis Pavlidis who backs up his impressive hat-trick against Barcelona on the final matchday with an even more important goal tonight!

After the goal, things got even worse for the hosts as they were reduced to 10 men after Al Musrati received a second yellow on his Champions League debut for Monaco.

Al Musrati has become just the second Monaco player to be sent off on his UEFA Champions League debut, following Ousmane Dabo v Galatasaray in September 2000.

22:12 CET - Who else? Harry Kane gets on the scoresheet early in the second period to further dent Celtic's hopes. Joshua Kimmich whipped in a perfect corner and Kane was waiting at the back post to volley an effort past the helpless Schmeichel from close range! 2-0.

22:05 CET - As play gets back underway at Celtic Park, here is a stat that will not fill Celtic fans with confidence. Celtic failed to have a shot in the first half of a UEFA Champions League match for the first time since March 2008 vs Barcelona.

As well as they defended, Celtic never looked threatening the other end and that will be a concern to Brendan Rogers' side.

21:52 CET - Elsewhere at the break:

Feyenoord 1-0 AC Milan

Monaco 0-0 Benfica

21:50 CET - That was the final major action of the half and it came at the worst possible time for Celtic who have been dealt a dagger blow just before the break.

21:46 CET - The goal that had been coming has arrived for Bayern and what a goal it is from Michael Olise! The former Crystal Palace winger has been a threat throughout and this time he makes no mistake. Olie turned his defender inside out before unleashing a rocket from the edge of the box into the top corner. Unstoppable.

21:33 CET - One man who has looked like a constant threat has been Harry Kane and the forward just came close to giving Bayern the lead as his dangerous header from close range was saved by Kasper Schmeichel who got down quickly.

21:30 CET - For all their possession and probing, Bayern Munich have still failed to create much of note and Celtic will be happy with how this is going so far.

21:07 CET - The first goal of the night has come for real this time! It comes from Igor Paixao who gives Feyenoord the early advantage against European giants AC Milan.

21:03 CET - Incredible early drama at Celtic Park as the hosts thought they had taken a lead inside the first minute through Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn only for VAR to rule it out for offside.

That has fired up an already electric atmosphere inside the stadium though - it is deafening.

20:28 CET - Brugge have done it! Against the odds, they have claimed a 2-1 win at home against Atalanta, and now have the initiative heading into the second leg. The Italian side will still be the favourites, but Brugge have given themselves a real chance now.

20:35 CET - Would you believe it?! Club Brugge have surely won the match in the dying embers against Atalanta, with Gustaf Nilsson netting from the penalty spot in the 94th minute! Incredible drama.

20:15 CET - The line-ups are out for the late matches, with Joao Felix, Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Santiago Gimenez all starting as AC Milan face Feyenoord, while Bayern Munich have Eric Dier in the heart of defence against Celtic.

19:29 CET - Just five minutes before half-time, Atalanta have levelled proceedings, with Mario Pasalic equalising against Brugge with a fabulous header. He now has three goals in his last three Champions League matches.

19:00 CET - Brugge have made a wonderful start to the match against Atalanta - and have been rewarded! Ferran Jutgla has given the Belgium side the lead against the Italian outfit after just 15 minutes!

18:00 CET - Hello and welcome back to a big night of European action. It will take something extraordinary to beat the drama in Manchester last night, but I feel Celtic vs Bayern will deliver plenty of excitement.

First up tonight though sees Club Brugge host an Atalanta side that will surely fancy their chances of progression. The Bergamo-based club have suffered a setback lately but earlier in the season they were one of the best teams in Europe.

Brugge will be hoping to make the most of being at home first but with Atalanta capable of blowing them away in the return fixture, they must make the most of the home support tonight.

23:15 CET - Well, what a night of action! At the end of it all, Real Madrid and Juventus edged their ties while Dortmund and PSG will take healthy three-goal leads into their home second legs.

Catch up on all of the evening's scores here.

23:02 CET - Elsewhere, Juventus held on to an important home win against PSV and Dortmund cruised to a 3-0 win away to Sporting Lisbon.

22:54 CET - I CAN'T SPEAK! This incredible first leg has one more cruel twist for Manchester City.

It is the story of the season for the hosts who simply can't stop the goals from leaking in and it is a familiar face to English fans as Jude Bellingham scores the last-second winner for Real Madrid to stun Pep Guardiola and his side.

As City searched for a winner to put themselves in a stronger position for the return leg, the pace of Vini Jr. killed them on the counter and he was able to find Bellingham to slide in and score! Incredible drama and an astonishing away win for Los Blancos.

22:51 CET - Over in Turin and youngster Samuel Mbangula has scored a massive goal for the hosts to put Juventus ahead late on!

22:47 CET - Manchester City vs Real Madrid is never dull! Real are level again and after a poor parry into danger from Ederson, Brahim Diaz was on hand to volley in the rebound with ruthless efficiency. The former City academy player doesn't celebrate but that is a vital goal for the visitors.

22:43 CET - Meanwhile Dortmund's sensational second period keeps getting better in Lisbon as Karim Adeyemi adds a third goal for the visitors. It was a classic case of Sporting going all out to get themselves back into the tie whilst they still have home advantage and Adeyemi punishing them with his pace and directness on the counter. Tie over?

22:41 CET - No mistake from Erling Haaland from the spot! The Scandinavian has ice in his veins as he cooly dispatches the penalty into the bottom corner to score his second of the game and restore his side's lead on the night.

22:38 CET - Penalty Manchester City! Well, we might be about to get a quick answer to that question after quick feet inside the box from Phil Foden resulted in the Englishman going down from contact and winning a penalty!

22:35 CET - We are moving into the last 10-15 minutes across the grounds as a big night of Champions League playoff action reaches its conclusion. Will there be another twist in Manchester? Real Madrid have been all over the home side in this second half but both defences look vulnerable.

22:28 CET - Over to Lisbon and a big 10-minute period from Dortmund has put them in cruise control against Sporting.

First up Serhou Guirassy scored his 10th goal of this season's campaign to continue his sensational form in Europe before Pascal Gross doubled their lead a couple of minutes ago.

22:21 CET - It might have taken a while but the galacticos have arrived in Manchester! A delightful chipped pass from Dani Ceballos found Kylian Mbappe on the volley and although far from a convincing finish, the French star's effort just crossed the line to fire Real level.

Game on!

22:15 CET - A big second period is underway around all three European grounds and there has been a goal already!

It has come from a familiar name in Ivan Perisic who has fired PSV level against Juventus after clever feet in the box was followed by a low-driven strike into the bottom right-hand corner from the Croatian international.

21:49 CET - That’s half-time around the grounds with Manchester City leading Real Madrid 1-0 and Juventus ahead by the same scoreline against PSV. It’s still goalless between Sporting and Dortmund.

21:34 CET - Moving over to Turin, Weston McKennie has put Juventus into a 1-0 lead against PSV with a powerful strike from the edge of the area!

21:23 CET - After a very lengthy VAR check for offside, Haaland's goal has been given. City lead Real 1-0.

21:18 CET - Manchester City have opened the scoring against Real Madrid. Guess who? It's Erling Haaland with the goal! The big Norwegian was in the right place to receive Josko Gvardiol's chest down and powered it home after a lengthy spell of possession for the hosts.

21:01 CET -  We are underway around the grounds! You can follow all the matches via the link above and we will have major updates for you right here.

20:50 CET - Now our attention turns to Manchester, Lisbon and Turin for the late games as City host Real, Sporting take on Dortmund and Juventus face PSV!

20:43 CET - That's all she wrote in Guingamp. PSG proved to be far too strong for their Ligue 1 rivals Brest, winning 3-0 thanks largely to another brace from Ousmane Dembele.

The French champions will take that lead to Paris for the return leg next week and you'd have to think, this tie is all but over already. However, crazier things have happened!

20:12 CET - It's that man again, Ousmane Dembele has put PSG into a 3-0 lead over hosts Brest. The French international simply cannot stop scoring, he now has 12 goals in his last six starts! Barely believable but he is a man on fire.

20:00 CET - After we are done in France, the full focus will turn to the late matches and in particular Manchester City against Real Madrid. The teams are in for that game and the big news is that Jack Grealish gets a rare start for the hosts.

19:36 CET - Just on the stroke of half-time the man of the moment Ousmane Dembele fired PSG 2-0 ahead to give the visitors a commanding lead at the quarter stage of the tie!

19:08 CET - The first goal of the play-offs has gone in and it will be no surprise to hear that PSG have scored it! Portuguese magician Vitinha showed composure from the spot to give the visitors the lead and put them in control early on in the tie.

17:50 CET - First up tonight though is an all-French tie between Brest and PSG. And if that wasn't already gripping enough, the conditions are not looking good in Brest's temporary European home after heavy downpours this afternoon. As things stand, the game is still going ahead and it should provide plenty of thrills, spills and slips!

The lineups are in for the first match of the day, check them out here:

17:35 CET - With that being said, let's have a look at what is to come tonight. Without question, the standout fixture comes from Manchester City hosting the holders Real Madrid as the two European giants meet for the fourth consecutive season in Europe.

Listen to live commentary of that match here.

Pep Guardiola vs Carlo Ancelotti is always box office but when you consider how early this tie comes in the competition and how devastating defeat would be for both clubs - this meeting feels extra special.

The two other matches tonight may not grab the headlines but are no less intriguing. Thiago Motta's Juventus host PSV in a difficult match to call - defeat for Motta would pile huge pressure on a man already losing the supporters. Meanwhile, Sporting CP take on Dortmund in a game that promises plenty of excitement and goals - neither side are dull to watch.

17:30 CET - Hello and welcome back to a fascinating night of Champions League play-offs! There are intriguing ties everywhere you look and despite being just the first leg, we know from experience how many ties can be all but over at 'half-time'. Lose badly tonight and your Champions League campaign will hang in the balance.
