Here's a snapshot of how your club manager felt about their respective results at the weekend.

Sydney FC 0-2 Wellington Phoenix

Ufuk Talay (Sydney FC):

"Red cards always impact the game, but overall I thought we started the game well. We had a good chance to score with T (Tiago Quintal) and we didn't. The red card makes life difficult. I think it's a challenge that he (Rhys Youlley) will learn from as a young kid. I don't think we need to make that kind of challenge 60 metres away from goal. Overall I think in the second half we kept going and created some chances with ten men but they didn't capitalise."

Giancarlo Italiano (Wellington Phoenix):

"I don't like to go into the dressing room post-game - that's the players' environment - but I'm sure they'd be very happy with that. It was a good 90 minutes. We came here with a game plan that the boys executed very well in the first half. We showed a lot of discipline. It's very hard to play against ten men - you see a lot of clubs struggling with that dynamic - but I think the boys executed it very well. We were able to influence the game with our subs and that was very positive."

Central Coast Mariners 1-1 Macarthur FC

Warren Moon (Central Coast Mariners):

"It's been a long, tough week for the club as a whole. I think we showed today that the club has a lot of spirit, fight and resilience. I felt we deserved that as a bare minimum for the week we've had. It was really important to get something out of the game. As the head coach it's just about keeping everyone's mind on the job at hand. That's easier said than done. Credit to the APL for the way they came in securing the players' contracts and putting their minds at ease and giving everyone the assurances that it was going to be business as usual."

Mile Sterjovski (Macarthur FC):

"I'm very frustrated. I felt like we dominated most of the game and created enough chances to win, and with the goal we conceded I really felt like there was a penalty for us before the Mariners went down the other end and scored. There were definitely some positives in the match. I thought it was a good reaction from last week when we weren't at the races. I felt we deserved the three points but it just wasn't meant to be today. We spend a lot of money on VAR and we see it consistently where, in my opinion, they get a lot of decisions wrong. They should just leave it up to the referees because it just leaves everybody more frustrated."

Adelaide United 2-1 Melbourne Victory

Airton Andrioli (Adelaide United):

"Really happy to score with one of the last goals of the game. Decisions go your way and against you - that's the merry-go-round that is football. I am extremely proud. This is my first win in such an iconic rivalry in Australia. To be a part of this in front of a full house gives me a great sense of achievement. We wanted to reward our supporters and I thought the game went well. We kept Mata quiet which is always hard to do. Overall I think it was an exciting game."

Arthur Diles (Melbourne Victory):

"Unfortunately (the refereeing) is a part of the game we can't control. It's unfortunate for everybody involved in football, because in the end this is a fantastic spectacle. It's probably one of the best games of the season. We had hundreds of fans come from Melbourne and filled out a stadium. It's not fair on my players, it's not fair on the fans, and that's the most disappointing part. We shouldn't be talking about the refereeing and a poor decision. We should be talking about how great the football was from both teams, but in the end we're not. I'm very proud of my players. I thought they were outstanding."

Western Sydney Wanderers 1-2 Newcastle Jets

Alen Stajcic (Western Sydney Wanderers):

"I don't agree that we came into the game late. I thought we controlled it and had longer passages, but every time they had the ball they were threatening. We lacked the finer detail and quality which we have done often this year and couldn't really create the good chance we needed to. They executed their (chances) and we didn't. Second half we created some massive chances around the 50-60 minute mark but without execution. Unfortunately we have fallen on the wrong side of the scoreboard again."

Mark Milligan (Newcastle Jets):

"I thought we were poor in the first half and much better in the second. I didn't feel we had as much control as we would have liked but that's credit to them - they changed the way they played and it took a bit of time for us to adapt. Once we did that we weren't comfortable by any means but we were much better. We had enough chances to put it to bed. We're building towards something bigger than this game and it's important that we take advantage of every moment to get better."

Perth Glory 1-2 Brisbane Roar

Adam Griffiths (Perth Glory):

"They're very difficult to beat, and if you don't take your chances and give away average goals, then you lose the game. I thought we definitely deserved something out of that game. We had some big moments and we just didn't take them. They (Brisbane) play a particular brand of football that is difficult to beat because they're so well organised and structured. We've got to manage (Taggart) because he's a very important player, and if we can get him back to full fitness, the team will be much better for it. We could have a couple of players returning next week."

Borja Lema (Brisbane Roar):

"This win is dedicated to Michael (Valkanis) and we are behind him. I'm very happy for the guys and it's a very important win. One of the best examples of us being behind (Valkanis) was the hard work that everyone put in on the pitch today to be behind him. I just had to do what was required and everyone worked very hard to get the three points. The game plan that we prepared as a team worked perfectly and was spot on."

Melbourne City 2-1 Auckland FC

Aurelio Vidmar (Melbourne City):

"We were playing far too much in our own defensive half in the first half. We weren't active enough or forward thinking enough and we were very passive. Everything was slow, even basic things like throw-ins. We always allowed the opposition to set up. We were good with the ball but it makes it harder when the other team are behind the ball and you're trying to play around or through them. We just had to be a lot more positive in the second half, and a lot more aggressive too."

Steve Corica (Auckland FC):

"Across the 90 minutes we weren't great. First 45 we were good, defending well and getting a fantastic goal, but definitely not good enough in the second half. Individual errors led to both goals. In saying that, the penalty changed the game. I've seen those ones not given before. I said to the referee after the game that nobody knows the rules on handball. One week it can be given and another not. But the second goal conceded was poor defending from our side."
