Como claimed their third consecutive away win with a convincing 3-0 victory over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, meaning the Biancocelesti have now failed to win any of their last five matches on home soil (D3, L2).

Lazio ended their four-match winless streak last time out away to Verona as they aim to regain form and compete for a top-six spot in Serie A. However, just two minutes into this game, the home side found themselves behind.

Martin Baturina opened the scoring with a shot from the edge of the penalty area that deflected heavily and went inside the goalkeeper’s right post.

Following the opening goal, the contest remained quiet as both teams struggled to break through the opposition's defence.

Como were efficient and clinical with their attacks though and doubled their lead midway through the half with only their second shot, as Nico Paz capitalised on a loose ball in the box and fired in from close range.

Things only continued to worsen for Lazio as the first half went on, after Kenneth Taylor gave away a foul on Maxence Caqueret in the box, giving the visitors the chance to put the game out of sight.

Ivan Provedel came to the rescue, however, getting down low to push Paz’s penalty away from the bottom-right corner.

The opening stages of the second half did little to encourage the Biancocelesti supporters, as they conceded a third just four minutes after the restart when the two goalscorers combined.

Baturina brilliantly backheeled the ball to Paz on the edge of the area, and the Argentine curled a sumptuous strike into the bottom-left corner.

There were very few chances after the third goal, with Como looking the more likely to find the back of the net again, going close through Lucas Da Cunha, but his effort from the centre of the penalty area went straight down the middle of the goal and was saved comfortably by Provedel.

Maurizio Sarri’s men showed very little sign of finding a way back into the game and ultimately, Como coasted to a comfortable victory that gives them a five point cushion inside the Serie A’s top-six.

Meanwhile, Lazio’s already slim hopes of securing European football continue to fade, with them now sitting nine points adrift of their visitors.
