Seattle Kraken rookie Berkly Catton records first career point in NHL debut

Seattle Kraken rookie centre Berkly Catton recorded his first career NHL point during Monday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Catton recorded a secondary assist on a goal by Jordan Eberle, his first of the season. Defenceman Cale Fleury was awarded the primary assist.

The 19-year-old Catton was selected No. 8 overall in the 2024 NHL Draft by the Kraken

He spent the majority of his 2024-2025 season in the WHL for the Spokane Chiefs, where he posted 38 goals and 71 assists through 57 games. 

Catton also posted one assist in five games last season for the Canadian National Under-20 team during the U-20 World Junior Championships.

He won both the the CHL Sportsman of the Year award and the Brad Hornung Trophy (Sportsmanship) following last season after leading the Chiefs to a WHL Finals appearance.

Now, he's looking to give a 3-0-2 Kraken team a boost on the back lines.
