Tage Thompson recorded his ninth career hat trick to lead the Buffalo Sabres to their 15th win in their last 17 games, while Winnipeg's Jonathan Toews earned career point No. 900 in Thursday's incredible 10-game slate of action!

Sabres 5-3 Canadiens

After going down 3-2 to the Habs, the Sabres would rally with three straight, unanswered goals as the Sabres continue to stay the hottest team in hockey.

Thompson finished the night with three goals and two assists, making it 12 total points in his last six games. Teammate Josh Doan also continues to stay hot, recording at least one point in seven of the team's last eight games with five goals and five assists during that span.

Buffalo improved to 26-16-4, while the Habs fell to 26-15-7.

Jets 6-2 Wild

With the game's first goal and his seventh on the season, followed by an assist to teammate Josh Morrissey (9) to help the Jets go up 3-0 in the first period, beloved hockey veteran Jonathan Toews reached 900 career points (goals + assists).

He joins Claude Giroux (1,148), Nicklas Backstrom (1,033), Brad Marchand (1,026), and Phil Kessel (992) as the only members of the 2006 NHL Draft class to reach that mark - a group of future Hall of Famers.

Teammate Mark Scheifele (23) had a goal and three assists as the Jets win their fourth-straight, now starting to crawl their way out of the bottom of the league as they improved to 19-22-5.

Minnesota 26-13-9, losing back-to-back games.

Islanders 1-0 Oilers

Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin was a brick wall in the net as he recorded 35 saves en route to his second shutout in the past four games, his fifth on the year and 27th of his career.

Edmonton outshot the Islanders a whopping 35-18. But it was Anthony Duclair's (9) lone goal with under seven minutes left in the game that gave the Islanders all they needed as they improved to 26-15-5, standing at second place in the Metropolitan Division.

The Oilers fell to 23-17-8, sitting in second in their respective Pacific Division.

Sharks 3-2 Capitals

After Dylan Strome (11) put the Caps up 1-0 in the second period, the Sharks would retaliate with three straight of their own en route to their fourth win in the past five games.

Zack Ostapchuk (3), Collin Graf (13), and Pavol Regenda (7) found the net for the Sharks, while Ryan Leonard (10) tried to give the Caps life in the third period to no avail.

Washington fell to 24-18-6, while the Sharks improved to 24-19-3.

Blue Jackets 3-1 Canucks

The Canucks dropped their ninth-straight game as they fell to a league-worst 16-26-5.

Three straight goals to start the game from Charlie Coyle (10), Kirill Marchenko (17), and Zach Werenski (18) was all that was needed for the Blue Jackets to earn their third-straight victory.

Columbus goalie Elvis Merzlikins put up 30 saves on the night, marking his seventh game of the season with at least 30 saves.

The Blue Jackets improved to 21-19-7.

Penguins 6-3 Flyers

The Penguins scored twice in each period in their win over their rival Flyers.

Pittsburgh star Sidney Crosby earned his 25th goal of the season off an assist from Evgeni Malkin, both of whom finished with two assists on the night.

Teammate Justin Brazeau ended his seven-game point-less streak with his 13th goal of the season as the Penguins improved to 22-14-10.

Flyers young star Matvei Michkov broke out of his cold streak with his first goal in 10 games, also his 10th on the season.

But it wasn't enough as Philly dropped their fourth-straight, falling to 22-16-8.

Bruins 4-2 Kraken

The Boston Bruins won their fifth-straight game after David Pastrnak earned his 20th goal of the season on a power-play empty-netter.

Boston got out to a 3-1 lead, but would hold off a rally after Seattle's Eeli Tolvanen (9) cut the lead to 3-2 in the second.

Bruins defenceman led his team with two points on two assists, bringing his season total up to 26 as his team improved to 27-19-2.

Seattle dropped to 21-16-9.

Flames 3-1 Blackhawks

Following a Blackhawks goal courtesy of Nick Foligno (2) to start the game, Calgary scored three straight unanswered as they improved to 20-23-4.

Yegor Sharangovich (9), Mikael Backlund (12), and Matt Coronato (13) each scored for the Flames, handing Chicago their fourth loss in the past five games, falling to 19-21-7 on the season.

Mammoth 2-1 Stars

Nick Schmaltz (17) and John Marino (4) scored the goals for Utah, both of whom assisted on the other's goal.

Utah goalie Karel Vejmelka's one-goal game marked his 10th start this season, allowing one or fewer goals.

The Mammoth improved to 24-20-4, leaping the Sharks for the top Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.

Dallas fell to 27-12-9.

Maple Leafs 5-6 Golden Knights (AOT)
