By the end of the day, all semi-finalists will be known in Shanghai and Wuhan, as heavyweight names battle it out to take a major step closer to glory. The Tennis Tracker will, as usual, keep you updated with all the latest results and news.

16:00 CET - That's all from us today on the Tennis Tracker, but be sure to tune in again tomorrow as the semi-finals get underway in Wuhan and Shanghai!

14:57 CET - Daniil Medvedev has continued an impressive run in Shanghai with a dominant 6-4, 6-4 victory against seventh seed Alex De Minaur to book his place in the semi-finals.

14:15 CET - A huge win for Jasmine Paolini in the race for the WTA finals after the Italian produced a brilliant performance to stun world number two Iga Swiatek in Wuhan.

Paolini outclassed Iga Swiatek in just over an hour to win 6-1, 6-2 to book her spot in the semi-finals and massively help her chances of reaching next month's WTA finals in Riyadh.

11:05 CET - Coco Gauff had no issues cruising to a win over 37-year-old Laura Siegemund, sealing a 6-3, 6-0 victory to move into the Wuhan last four. She will face the winner of Iga Swiatek vs Jasmine Paolini, which gets underway in a little under two hours.

10:42 CET - What a week it has been for Arthur Rinderknech! The Frenchman is into his very first Masters 1000 semi-final, seeing off the in-form Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 6-4 in Shanghai.

The 30-year-old is now projected to move up to a career-high 37 in the world rankings! Meanwhile, Auger-Aliassime's chances of qualifying for the ATP Finals now look unlikely.

08:37 CET - Aryna Sabalenka continues to prove why she has NEVER lost a match in Wuhan, with the three-time defending champion putting in a supreme performance to ease to a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Elena Rybakina in just under an hour and a half.

She will face Jessica Pegula in the semi-finals, in a rematch of their US Open last-four meeting a few weeks ago.

For Rybakina, it is a major hit for her chances of qualifying for the WTA Finals, with Jasmine Paolini currently ahead of her occupying that eighth and final spot.

07:40 CET - Good morning and welcome back to the Tennis Tracker this Friday, with some fantastic quarter-final action ahead of us in China!

There has already been one result from Wuhan, with Jessica Pegula coming from behind to claim a 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 win over Katerina Siniakova, moving into the semi-final as a result.

Currently on court, three-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka is facing Elena Rybakina for a 13th time, with the former leading the head-to-head 7-5.

That will be followed by a meeting between Coco Gauff and 37-year-old Laura Siegemund, before Iga Swiatek looks to improve her 6-0 record against Jasmine Paolini in the last quarter-final.

Over in Shanghai, play begins at 09:00 CET, as a revitalised Felix Auger-Aliassime comes up against another player in good form - Arthur Rinderknech - for a semi-final spot.

The final last eight clash sees Daniil Medvedev take on Alex De Minaur, in what is sure to be an absolute slugfest!
