The Toronto Maple Leafs extended their win streak to five games after taking down the Pittsburgh Penguins in an overtime thriller while Wyatt Johnson scored all three of his hat-trick goals on the power play as Dallas took down the St. Louis Blues.

William Nylander sent home his 35th goal of the season just one minute into overtime to give the Maple Leafs the win over a Pittsburgh Penguins team that scored three straight goals to end the first period.

The matchup saw 11 different goal-scorers en route to a 6-5 showdown leading to another Penguins loss, their seventh in the past 10 games.

Toronto maintains their Atlantic Division one-point lead over the Florida Panthers but are still playing catch up with the Eastern Conference's first seed in the Washington Capitals - who are six points ahead despite being on a three-game losing streak.

Stars 6-3 Blues

Wyatt Johnston (21) was the star of the night after scoring his third career hat trick, this time will all three of his goals coming on separate power plays.

Johnston's final two goals were the ones Dallas needed to put the final nail in the coffin against St. Louis as they take down their Central Division rivals having now won seven of their last 10 games.

St. Louis outshot Dallas a whopping 42 to 21, but Stars' goaltender and former Team USA member Jake Oettinger's 39 saves were a season high.

Rangers 4-0 Predators

In more goaltending news, Rangers netminder Jonathan Quick picked up his third shutout of the season and 63rd of his career.

The Predators' scoring woes continue just as Luke Schenn described this week and how he's never seen anything like it. Nashville have now been shutout six times this season and have the fourth-worst point differential (-44) in the league.

The Rangers have now won three of their last four games while the Preds have lost seven of their last 10 and possess the third-worst record in the league at 21-31-7.

Hurricanes alternate captain Sebastian Aho (23) scored the game-winner in overtime, marking it three straight games he has at least one goal.

The New Jersey Devils were shutout for the sixth time this year as the Vegas Golden Knights went on to win 2-0 behind a pair of goals from Mark Stone and Noah Hanifin.

Meanwhile, goalie Adin Hill recorded his third shutout of the year (10th career).

The Minnesota Wild won the night's lowest-scoring affair after beating the Bruins 1-0 thanks to Frederick Gaudreau's (13) lone goal and Filip Gustavsson's fourth shutout of the year (10th career).
