The National Hockey League (NHL) had several games on Sunday to end the week. Here is a look back at a couple of the games that took place.

Anaheim Ducks 3-2 Montreal Canadiens

The Anaheim Ducks were made to work in their game, but turned things around to defeat the Montreal Canadiens. Joel Armia put the Habs ahead halfway through the opening period via a shorthanded goal. Things were made worse for the hosts four minutes later, as Christian Dvorak doubled their advantage off a power play.

The Ducks then went to work in the second period, and were able to tie the game up at two. First, Mason McTavish found the back of the net with 6:23 left in the period. Then, less than a minute later, Frank Vatrano found the equaliser to bring the game back to parity.

Not satisfied with just tying up the game, Anaheim got their winner with 8:49 left in regulation through Alexander Killorn. Both teams had 14 shots in the final frame, but the Habs could not get a third goal to tie the game back up. The Ducks sit nine points out of the playoff spots in the Western Conference, while the Habs are six points back in the East.

New York Rangers 4-2 Las Vegas Golden Knights

The New York Rangers managed to get the better of the visiting Las Vegas Golden Knights with a 4-2 victory at Madison Square Garden. Jack Eichel got the game's opening goal for the guests with 19 seconds left in the opening period via a power play. It would not take long for the Rangers to respond though, as Alexis Lafreniere nodded things up just 78 seconds after the first intermission.

Eichel then sored a second for the Golden Knights as they went back in front midway through the frame. The Rangers found themselves trailing yet again, and just as they did last time, they got their way back into the game. Five minutes into the final period, Mika Zibanejad tied things up through a power play. Then, with 8:27 left, K. Andre Miller scored the go-ahead goal for the Rangers, with Artemi Panarin adding a fourth in the final moments on a power play to wrap up the win.

The victory sees New York edge closer to the playoff places as they are now only five points back of the Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets. For the Golden Knights, now losers of their last three, they are still fourth in the Western Conference.
