Head coach Ole Bitsch and star player Christina Pedersen will leave Viborg HK with immediate effect say the club in a press release.

Bitsch has allegedly chosen to resign with just over a week to go until the start of the season. The resignation comes on the back of long-term unrest in the club after the club's star player Christina Pedersen had been suspended because she was unwanted by her teammates.

Ole Bitsch sees the resignation as the best solution for the club and himself.

"I have chosen to terminate the collaboration after what we have been through in recent months. I believe that is the best thing for Viborg HK, the girls and not least myself. I wish the girls and Viborg HK all the best in the future", he says in a press release.

The news of Christina Pedersens departure is not surprising after Viborg had suspended the star player for several weeks after long-term friction between the playmaker and his teammates.

This caused a significant part of the Viborg squad to not want to show up for training if Christina Pedersen was involved.

"Viborg HK and Christina Pedersen have agreed to terminate their cooperation with immediate effect. The decision has been made with mutual understanding and respect for each other's wishes and future direction. We would like to thank Christina for her efforts at the club and wish her all the best in the future - both on and off the field", say Viborg in the press release.
