KIF Kolding has signed former Danish international Anders Eggert as their new head coach. Eggert thus returns to the club, where he has previously been an assistant coach for two seasons. He takes over as head coach from next season on a three-year deal that runs until the summer of 2028.

Eggert has been a regular part of the coaching team in SG Flensburg-Handewitt and brings solid professionalism, strong leadership and international experience with him back to Kolding, says the club in a press release.

Julie Loop will take over the role as assistant coach after she was put in place as interim coach for the last matches of last season where Kolding were relegated from Herreligaen for the first time in club history.

Chairman of the board, Mads Aarestrup, explains that choosing Eggert is closely linked to club strategy.

"It has been a priority for us to find a profile that is largely in harmony with the overall strategy for the journey we are facing. In this respect, Anders appears as an obvious choice, not least thanks to his significant commitment and wealth of ideas, which we have great confidence, can contribute to us regaining our position in the best league in Denmark."

Anders Eggert is looking forward to stepping into a new role and turn the club he knows so well into the powerhouse it used to be.

"I am both proud and excited to step into the role of head coach and feel that the timing is perfect. The club rests on a solid foundation in the parent club, which contains a large and ambitious youth department and a strong academy.  We will work purposefully with development – technically, tactically and mentally – and bring modern, innovative handball in play to bring KIF Kolding forward, and over time back to where the club belongs", says Eggert.
