The No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs defeated the No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide 28-7 to win their second straight Southeastern Conference Championship - making it back-to-back for the first time in program history.

The Bulldogs have now won the conference championship three times in the past four seasons. They got their revenge on Alabama, whom they lost to 24-21 earlier in the season.

Georgia held Bama to -3 rushing yards on 16 carries and 209 total yards. Quarterback Ty Simpson finished the game with 212 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception on 19-of-39 passing.

On the Georgia offensive side of the ball, quarterback Gunner Stockton finished with 156 passing yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions on 20-of-26 passing.

Alabama now awaits the College Football Playoff committee's decision on whether they make the playoffs or not.

Full game recap + highlights

After three straight punts to start the game, Georgia got home on the fourth (second from Bama) for a blocked punt deep into Crimson Tide territory.

It took Georgia just four plays to capitalize after Stockton completed a one-yard pass to running back Roderick Robinson II for the first touchdown of the game to go up 7-0.

The touchdown wasn't just Robinson's first of the season - it was his first since 2023 after not having a single one in 2024.

After Bama got the ball back, just six plays later, it would end up in Georgia's hands after Daylen Everette picked off Simpson for the first turnover of the game.

It was Everette's first INT of the season and it set the Bulldogs' offence up for yet another score on back-to-back drives.

After going 57 yards on 14 plays, Stockton threw his second touchdown pass of the game for five yards to wide receiver Dillon Bell for just his second of the year to go up 14-0.

It would be the final score of the first half as Georgia led 14-0 heading into the third quarter. The Bulldogs held Alabama to just 17 rushing yards (53 passing), allowing only three first downs. No rusher for Alabama had more than nine yards.

Georgia, on the other hand, put up 10 first downs on 168 total yards in the first half.

Stockton put up 80 passing yards and two touchdowns on 12-of-17 passing and led all rushers with 32 yards on seven carries.

2nd half

In a third quarter that saw five punts between both teams, Georgia put up their third touchdown of the game on their first drive of the half.

Running back Nate Frazier punched in a nine-yard rushing touchdown to put the Bulldogs up 21-0, capping off a six-play, 40-yard drive.

Bama would have two straight three-and-outs, while Georgia had one of their own before the fourth quarter started.

It took 91 yards on nine plays, with the help of two crucial penalties by Georgia's Demello Jones, who was given a 15-yard unsportmanlike conduct after his team got a crucial sack, then a 15-yard pass interference that put Bama on Georgia's 23-yard line, but they finally got in the endzone.

Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson hit wide receiver Germie Bernard for a 28-yard touchdown with 12:33 left in the game to make it 21-7

After another Georgia punt, their seventh of the game, their defence would force an Alabama turnover on downs to get the ball back on the Bama 12 yardline.

It wouldn't take long for the Bulldogs to pour more salt in the wound after Stockton completed his third touchdown pass of the night to wide receiver Zachariah Branch to end the game 28-7.
