The Detroit Tigers acquired starting pitcher Chris Paddack (29) and relief pitcher Randy Dobnak (30) from the Minnesota Twins in a trade deal on Monday.

Minnesota receives catching prospect Enrique Jimenez (No. 14 in the Tigers' system).

Paddack is 3-9 this season with a 4.95 earned run average (ERA) in 21 games this season, striking out 83 batters in 111.0 innings. Meanwhile, Dobnak, who has pitched in just one game for the Twins this season, tossed a 7.12 ERA in Triple-A (60.2 innings) this season.

The 19-year-old Jimenez is slashing .250/.339/.440 with six home runs and 32 RBI in rookie ball for the Tigers this season.

Detroit, who recently got out of a slump post-All-Star Break, currently boasts the second-best record (61-46) in the American League while their AL Central division-rival Twins are 50-55 on the year, leaving them on the outside looking in for a possible Wild Card spot.
