Finnegan is tossing a career-worst 4.38 earned run average this season through 40 games. The 33-year-old has given up 19 earned runs on 36 hits through 39 innings, striking out 32 while walking 14.

Opponents are hitting .248 off Finnegan this season. The righty is coming off a very rough July in which he gave 10 earned runs on 10 hits in eight innings.

Finnegan is under a one-year contract and will be an unrestricted free agent after the season ends.

The veteran is yet another bullpen arm addition at the deadline for them, including Paul Sewald (details here) and Rafael Montero (details here).
