Jeffrey de Graaf (34) admitted his shock victory over Gary Anderson at the PDC World Championships was a 'dream come true'.

The Swedish player sealed a 3-0 victory in the second round against world number 14 Anderson after hitting three 180s and averaging 95.56.

It was one of several upsets on the night at Alexandra Palace, with Anderson among five seeded players eliminated from the tournament.

"This is a dream come true for me. Gary has been my idol since I was 14 years old,” De Graaf admitted.

“We all know what he is capable of. Gary is an unbelievable player, but he didn’t really turn up today.

“I knew I had to hit my doubles, and I took my chances immediately, so I’m very happy!”

De Graaf now faces Paolo Nebrida for a spot in the last 16, with the Filipino causing a shock of his own after a straight-sets win against Ross Smith.
