The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired veteran forward Corey Perry from the Los Angeles Kings in a trade deal on Friday in exchange for a 2028 second-round pick.

Perry, 40, originally played 163 games for the Lightning between 2021 and 2023. He has 11 goals and 17 assists through 50 games this season for the Kings

He'll be joining a Tampa team who have lost four straight games, but still sit in second place in the Eastern Conference with a 38-18-4 record (80 points).

Perry joins Alexander Ovechkin, Jonathan Quick, and Brent Burns as the three oldest players in the NHL - all 40 years old. He was the 28th pick in the 2003 NHL Draft and made his debut with the Anaheim Ducks during the 2005-2006 season.

He would spend the following 13 years in Anaheim, where most of his career highlights came from. During the 2010-2011 season, Perry finished with a league-leading 50 goals - winning two awards that included the Hart Memorial Trophy (MVP) and the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy (leading goal scorer).

After a 2019 season with the Dallas Stars, and a 2020 season with the Montreal Canadiens, he joined the Lightning (2021-2022), where he played in every regular season but one, putting up 31 goals and 34 assists in 163 games.

Now, after brief stints withe Chicago Blackhawks, Edmonton Oilers, and Kings, he's back in the blue.

Perry has 459 career goals and 504 assists (963 points) in 1,442 games.
