The 40-year-old Paul posted a tribute video on social media stating, "Back in NC!!! What a ride…Still so much left…GRATEFUL for this last one!!"
Since winning Rookie of the Year after the 2005-2006 season, following his fourth overall selection in the 2005 NBA Draft, Paul would go on to become what everyone says as one of the greatest point guards of all-time and what others would say is the greatest to ever do it.
In his 21 years, Paul played for seven different teams, including: New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans (2005-2010), Los Angeles Clippers (2011-2016, 2025), Houston Rockets (2017-2018), Oklahoma City Thunder (2019), Phoenix Suns (2020-2022), Golden State Warriors (2023), and San Antonio Spurs (2024).
Despite not adding a championship ring to his resume, Paul has more than proved his greatness throughout his timeless career.
On top of being a 12x All-Star and 11x All-NBA, Paul also became a six-time steals champ on his way to joining the All-Defensive Teams nine times.
He was also a five-time Assist Champion who will finish his career second to the legendary John Stockton (15,806) on the all-time assists list.
Paul needs just 114 more points to surpass Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor (23,149) at No. 40 on the all-time scoring list.
CP3 was the first basketball player in NBA history to put up at least 20,000 points and 10,000 assists, earning Paul the one and only "Point God" nickname. The other two? LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.
