Now that proceedings have been wrapped up, it is time to take a look at the Team of the Season, using our very own internal ratings systems to decide who makes the starting XI.
Bear in mind that to be eligible for this team, players must have at least eight ratings in this season's competition. Check out our team below:

Goalkeeper
Temirlan Anarbekov (FC Kairat) 7.7
Did anyone expect Anarbekov to be the highest-rated goalkeeper? Kairat finished rock bottom of the league phase, yet perhaps the fact that they were the worst team and faced so many shots contributed to him performing so well.
Anarbekov made 34 saves - only eight goalkeepers made more. Most importantly, he prevented a very impressive 4.39 goals with a save percentage of 72.3%, summing up how needed the Kazakh was in goal.
Defenders
Rodinei (Olympiacos) 7.4
Another surprising inclusion, Olympiacos right back Rodinei, makes the starting XI.
The Brazilian kept three clean sheets and conceded just eight goals in eight games, while registering two assists as the Greek side were eliminated in the play-off round by Bayer Leverkusen.
Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) 7.4
It has been a really tough season for Liverpool, with manager Arne Slot being sacked after a torrid Premier League title defence and a quarter-final elimination to Paris Saint-Germain. The Liverpool captain hasn't been at his best this season, but he still remains a great centre-back and a powerful presence in defence for his side.
Van Dijk had the joint fourth-most headed clearances (38), won the joint second-most aerial duels (36), kept five clean sheets, and was also very strong in possession. No centre back completed more passes into the final third (134).
Additionally, he did his bit in the opposition penalty area, scoring twice and registering two assists.

Alessandro Bastoni (Inter Milan) 7.4
Despite winning Serie A, it was a disappointing Champions League campaign for Inter Milan, losing in the play-off round to Bodo/Glimt. However, Bastoni showcased plenty of the qualities that have seen him become one of the most highly-rated defenders around.
Bastoni kept three clean sheets in the competition, but it was more about what he did offensively. No centre back created more big chances (4) or chances overall (15) than the Italian.
Midfielders
Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) 8.3
Despite falling in the quarter-finals to LaLiga rivals Atletico Madrid, Lamine was one of the stars of the tournament from start to finish.
The Spaniard scored six goals and had four assists, while completing the most dribbles throughout the competition (46) at a success rate of 49.5%. He also created the most big chances (12).
Barcelona look set to have a massive summer as they eye their first Champions League title since 2015. There remains little doubt that Lamine will remain the man they look to in the biggest of moments.
Michael Olise (Bayern Munich) 8.1
Olise was utterly unplayable at times in the Champions League, and he looked to have gone to a totally different level as a footballer this season.
The Frenchman had five goals and a tournament-high seven assists, and was an absolute creative powerhouse for Bayern en route to the semi-finals, where they fell to eventual champions PSG.
Olise completed the second-most dribbles in the tournament (45) at a success rate of 57.7%, created the joint second-most chances (33), and produced eight big chances overall.
Vitinha (PSG) 7.7
PSG's midfield genius Vitinha was at the heart of absolutely everything his team did this tournament, dictating matches with his crisp passing and ability to progress the ball.
Alongside scoring six goals, the Portuguese star had the most touches (1898), successful passes (1589), forward passes (399), passes into the final third (190), while also completing 141 passes against Arsenal on Saturday - the highest number in a Champions League final since records began in 2003/04. He absolutely dominated the numbers on the ball.
He also did his part defensively, winning possession back more times than any other midfielder (95).

Luis Diaz (Bayern Munich) 7.9
Another key cog of Bayern's incredible front three, Diaz had a stellar debut campaign playing for the German giants.
The Colombian had seven goals and three assists in the Champions League, and was arguably their best player across the two legs in their thrilling semi-final defeat to PSG.
Diaz created the joint second-most big chances (9) and completed 30 dribbles. Part of an exceptional trio with Olise and Harry Kane, Bayern will surely be knocking on the Champions League door once again as they hunt a first Champions League title since 2020.
Forwards
Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) 8.4
The highest-rated player in the Champions League this season, Mbappe is the only man from Real Madrid to make the starting XI, after he ended the campaign as the competition's top scorer.
The Frenchman scored 15 goals in just 11 games, averaging a goal every 61 minutes. Despite Los Blancos falling at the quarter-final stage to Bayern, it was a remarkable individual campaign for Mbappe, despite question marks over whether he negatively affects the balance of his team.
He bagged four goals in a game against Olympiacos in the league phase, while also netting a hat-trick against Kairat.
He is still yet to get his hands on a Champions League trophy, and will surely be looking over at PSG with a tinge of jealousy after they won back-to-back titles the moment he left the club...

Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) 8.2
An absolute goal machine, Kane has enjoyed the season of his career, with the Englishman netting 14 goals in 13 Champions League games, averaging a goal every 74 minutes.
Kane scored in every single knockout match he played this season, and became just the second player in the competition's history to score in six consecutive knockout games, after Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite the semi-final defeat, Kane managed to get his hands on the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, and with a staggering 61 goals in all competitions, he heads into the World Cup with tonnes of confidence.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (PSG) 7.7
Kvaratskhelia was absolutely scintillating during the Champions League knockout rounds and was arguably PSG's best player in Europe this season.
The Georgian had 10 goals and six assists in the competition, registering three goals and an assist against Chelsea in the last 16, a goal and an assist against Liverpool in the quarter-finals, two goals and an assist against Bayern in the semis, while winning the penalty in the final against Arsenal.
He is one of the most exciting players to watch in the world, and completed 32 dribbles in Europe - the fifth highest. An absolute joy.
