The Milwaukee Bucks and two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo met on Wednesday to discuss future plans for the franchise's star player.

Both sides are expected to agree on a resolution in the coming week as the year draws to a close, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

The 30-year-old nine-time All-Star and nine-time All-NBA is shooting a career-best 63.9% from the field this season, averaging 30.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. His 11.8 field goals made per game this season lead the entire league.

Despite his level of MVP-caliber play this season, the Bucks are sitting in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with a 9-13 record.

They were bounced out of the playoffs last season in the first round by the eventual Eastern Conference champs in the Indiana Pacers and have yet to reach the ECF since winning the NBA Finals in 2021.

Over the past four years, Antetokounmpo has averaged at least 30/11/5 in three of them (29.9 points per game during the 2021-2022 season).

Since the 2018-2019 season, Antetokounmpo has finished in the top three of MVP voting five of the seven times and is making a run yet again this year with the likes of Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, and reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

The Greek Freak has been with the Bucks throughout the entirety of his 13-year career since the team drafted him with the 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
