Conor Benn insisted that he believes Chris Eubank Jr will retire following their hotly anticipated rematch on Saturday.

The two fighters have been the talk of the boxing world for much of 2025 since their April bout.

Eubank Jr infamously threw an egg at his opponent in the build-up to their first bout and had his Dad shock the world by arriving to accompany him in his corner during the fight - despite very public disapproval beforehand.

The two fighters' fathers also had an infamous rivalry back in the 1990s, which has added an extra layer of narrative to both bouts this year.

Usually fighting at welterweight, Benn has had to move up two divisions to take on Eubank Jr and believes this fight will be his opponent's last, given the remaining opportunities in the middleweight category.

"I think Chris will retire after this fight," Benn told Sky Sports.

"He's fighting a welterweight. Just look at the landscape, he isn't going to stay at 160lbs and fight a Janibek (Alimkhanuly) or a (Hamzah) Sheeraz, for half the money.

"It doesn't make sense."

Both boxers came in at 72 kilograms ahead of their rematch, with Eubank Jr making weight this time around after being fined £375,000 in April for missing the middleweight limit.

Benn has admitted he is eager to get the whole ordeal finished on Saturday evening and move on to his next goal: winning a world title as a welterweight.

"It's been the bane of my life for the past three years. I just can't wait for this to be done and over with, and I can just move on with my life," he admitted.

"My goal is to win a world title at welterweight.

"Right now, my goal is to get back down to welterweight.

"There's plenty of world title opportunities for me to get, whether it's (Mario) Barrios, (Ryan) Garcia, or Rolly Romero.

"Brian Norman, any of these guys. I'll fight any of these guys."

Benn came close to a shock win over Eubank Jr in April, missing out by a unanimous decision.

He will be hoping to avenge that defeat on Saturday night with his father, Nigel, in his corner once more.
