Texas Tech signed men's basketball coach Grant McCasland (48) to a $31.5 million extension that runs through the 2030-31 season, the school confirmed to the Lubbock Avalanche Journal.

McCasland will make $5 million next season with annual raises worth $100,000 up until his final season, which will total to $5.5 million.

The veteran coach has been at Texas Tech for two years now and has already made history with his 51-20 record, the most wins by a coach in program history in their first two seasons.

Texas Tech finished this past season with a 28-9 record and the program's third Elite Eight appearance at the 2025 NCAA Tournament. They eventually lost to the Florida Gators, who went on to win the National Championship.

The team, however, retained Big 12 Player of the Year in JT Toppin and added a flurry of names from the portal recently, including Lejuan Watts, who almost averaged 14 points, seven rebounds, and five assists per game at Washington State
