Rafael Devers (28) was all smiles during his first press conference on Tuesday as the newest member of the San Francisco Giants following the blockbuster trade.

Devers, who was acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, butted heads with his former team after they signed star third baseman Alex Bregman - forcing Devers out of his original third base position.

After much discourse throughout the season, he finds a new home on a San Francisco team that's one of the best in baseball, and he's ready to play wherever and whenever the Giants need him.

"They're the men in charge. I am here to play wherever they want me to play," said Devers during the press conference.

All of the Giants players even attended the press conference to show support for their new teammate, who will be making his first start with the team on Tuesday against the Cleveland Guardians as the DH.

"It's incredibly impactful to have a guy like him in the lineup," said Giants Manager Bob Melvin. "The buzz around our clubhouse on Sunday and leaving (Los Angeles on) Sunday and certainly on the off day and today has certainly been pretty amazing."

Melvin mentioned that Devers will be the team's designated hitter and will even get some reps at first base.

The three-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger was slashing a solid .272/.401/.504 for the Red Sox this year on top of his 15 home runs and 58 RBI.

In exchange for Devers, the Giants traded pitcher pitchers Jordan Hicks (28) and Kyle Harrison (23), who they immediately sent down to Triple-A, along with minor leaguers James Tibbs III (OF, 22) and Jose Bello (P, 20),
