The early American League Cy Young Award candidate is on pace for a career year.

Fried's 1.92 earned run average (ERA) is the second lowest in the AL, and all of baseball, behind Houston Astros starter Hunter Brown, while his 0.94 WHIP is ranked seventh.

In 108 innings, Fried has racked up 104 strikeouts to just 21 walks and 81 hits with his opponents batting .204 against him - ranked ninth in all of baseball.

Fried signed an eight-year, $218 million deal with the Yankees this offseason after spending the first eight years of his career with the Atlanta Braves, with whom he won the 2021 World Series and was a two-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner.

The Yankees currently sit in first place in the AL East division with a 46-34 record.
