The Detroit Tigers became the first team to reach 60 wins during the 2025 MLB season after their Sunday night win over the Texas Rangers.

Detroit now boasts the league's best record at 60-40 after their 2-1 victory.

Starting pitcher and All-Star Tarik Skubal threw another gem, going 6.2 innings while giving up just four hits and one run while striking out 11.

All-Star Gleyber Torres went 3-4 on the night while Matt Vierling and Zach McKinstry knocked in the team's two runs.

Tyler Holton got his fifth win on the season while closer Will Vest earned his 16th save.

The Tigers continue to roll after becoming the league's Cinderella story from last season.

Their pitching staff currently ranks seventh in all of baseball with a 3.66 earned run average, spearheaded by Skubal, who is looking for back-to-back Cy Young Awards.

Meanwhile, the team's hitting currently ranks 12th in batting average (.250), tied for ninth in home runs (125), sixth in total runs (485), and tied for sixth in OPS (.741).

The 2025 Detroit Tigers have a chance to make franchise history and become the first team since 1987 (98-64) that can put up the best record in all of baseball by the end of the season.
