Athletics team president Dave Kaval (49) announced that he will be resigning from his position on December 31st.

Kaval spent the past eight seasons as the team's president. According to the team, Kaval will be pursuing other business opportunities in California.

Kaval was known for overseeing the team's new home - which led to them to playing in Sacramento the next three seasons while they await a new ballpark to be built in Las Vegas. He's widely known nowadays for his utter failure in getting the Athletics a new ballpark to remain in Oakland.

Athletics fans took to social media to talk about the news.

Sandy Dean, executive who has worked with the A's since 2005, will serve as the interim president, stating they will be using a firm to search for the next team president.

"We are grateful for Dave's contributions and leadership over the past eight years," said team owner John Fisher. "He guided our organization through a period of significant transition, and we sincerely thank him for his unwavering commitment to the team."

The Athletics finished the 2024 season with a 69-93 record, finishing last place in the AL West division, coming off back-to-back 100+ loss seasons.
