Tampa Bay received utility man Gavin Lux (CIN) and right-handed pitcher Chris Clark (LAA). The Reds received left-handed pitcher Brock Burke (LAA).
Lowe slashed an underwhelming .220/.283/.366 with just 11 home runs, 40 RBI, and 18 stolen bases in 108 games last season for Tampa Bay.
The 27-year-old hit career highs in 2023 with 20 home runs, 83 RBI, and 32 stolen bases with a great .292 batting average. But the once promising star of the Rays hasn't been the same since, hitting below 12 home runs in back-to-back years now, with his entire slash line numbers dipping.
Lux, a two-time champion of the Los Angeles Dodgers, had a solid season for the Reds, slashing .269/.350/.374 with five home runs, setting a career-high in both RBI (53) and hits (120) in 140 games.
The 28-year-old spent the first five of six seasons of his career with the Dodgers before joining the Reds last season.
Also heading to Tampa is Clark, a 24-year-old who made his way from Single-A to Double-A ball last season in the Reds minor league system. He finished the season with a brutal 4-10 record, 4.73 earned run average, and 1.31 WHIP. He gave up 143 hits and 47 walks, while striking out 153 in 144.2 innings of work.
However, it's key to point out that eight of his 28 appearances were in A+ (2.87 ERA in seven games) and AA ball (2.25 ERA in one game), where he fared much better than in A ball (6.03 ERA).
As for the 29-year-old Burke heading to Cinci, he'll be entering his sixth season as a relief pitcher. He tossed a solid 3.36 ERA, giving up 58 hits and 18 walks through 61.1 innings, while striking out 52 in 69 games.
