The New York Jets requested to interview a total of six coordinators and assistants for the team's head coach position on Monday.

Among the reported names are offensive coordinators Arthur Smith (Pittsburgh Steelers), Joe Brady (Buffalo Bills), and Bobby Slowik (Houston Texans) along with defensive coordinators Aaron Glenn (Detroit Lions) and Vance Joseph (Denver Broncos), all of whom will be coaching in playoff games this year.

The Jets (5-12) also requested an interview with San Francisco 49ers quarterbacks coach Brian Griese.

The report comes after the team already conducted head coaching interviews with former Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera and former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel.

New York fired former head coach Robert Saleh in the middle of the season when the team started off 2-3 before going 3-9 under interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich for the rest of the year.

Smith and the Steelers are heading to Baltimore for Saturday's Wild Card matchup. His offence ranked 23rd this season while ranking 16th in points per game. Pittsburgh is currently on a four-game losing streak heading into the playoffs with one of those loses coming from Baltimore.

Brady's Bills ranked 10th in offence this season and second in points per game. The Bills are raring to go against the seventh-seeded Broncos this weekend.

The Texans' offence ranked 22nd this season under Slowik after quarterback C.J. Stroud had a down year after a phenomenal rookie season. They're taking on the Chargers in Houston on Saturday.

Despite their injury woes, the Lions' defence under  Aaron Glenn is coming off a stellar 31-9 win against a Minnesota Vikings offence that averaged over 25 points per game this season.

Joseph's Broncos defence ranked seventh in the league this year and allowed the third lowest points per game (18.3), making his case one of the best out of all the candidates for a new position.
