The Los Angeles Rams announced that they will be "seeking a trade immediately" for star wide receiver Cooper Kupp (31) despite the All-Pro's disagreement with doing so.

Kupp posted a message to his X account on Monday following the news along with a short video that has a voice-over of when he was drafted in 2017 by the Los Angeles Rams.

Kupp has been consistently one of the best receivers in the NFL despite not putting up the flashy numbers others may have. In 2021, he won the receiving Triple Crown (lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns), a feat that has only been done 15 times in NFL history before him

He was the first receiver to achieve the feat since Steve Smith Sr. did it with the Carolina Panthers in 2025. Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase joined that exclusive club this year, making him the 17th member.

Former teammate Andrew Whitworth, who Kupp won the Super Bowl with in 2022, showed his support for the former Super Bowl MVP.

Kupp is also a former All-Pro Offensive Player of the Year (2021) and Pro Bowl receiver.

In 2019, Kupp had one of the most impressive comebacks in recent history after tearing his ACL the previous year. He put up his first 1,000-yard (1,161) and double-digit touchdown (10) year that season, two removed before putting up the Triple Crown.

While he has yet to reach 1,000 yards since his Triple Crown year, Kupp is still a dangerous threat anywhere on the field for any team that's willing to be smart enough to trade for him.

For any team that trades for Kupp, they will also be taking on his $20 million salary in 2025 and $19.85 million in 2026. A contract extension can thin those numbers, but it is a relatively high price for a wide receiver entering his ninth season and hasn't played a full year since 2021.

However, if the team that trades for Kupp acquires him after he's due his $7.5 million guaranteed 2025 league roster bonus, the cap hit for the season falls to $12.5 million.

Another possible scenario is that Kupp is eventually cut and it becomes an all-out bidding war for the veteran. Either way, after what feels like a shockwave due to the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade in the NBA, the sports world is in a frenzy - even Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett requested for a trade.
